What are you going to learn ?

I accommodate absolute beginners, intermediate, and advanced Swahili learners. After a brief evaluation of each student’s current language level, I will design a syllabus geared specifically for each student.

Typically, lessons will follow the general outline below.

  • CONTENT FOR BEGINNERS:
    1.  Self-introduction and greetings
    2.  Numbers
    3.  Telling time
    4.  Positive Subject Prefix, Tense markers, and Verbs.
    5. Construction of Positive tense.
    6.  Construction of Negative tense.
    7.  Present Perfect tense marker “has and have” (Positive “me” and its Negative “ja”).
    8.  Verbs “to have” and “to be” (Positive and Negative).

    1. Relative of time “when”
    2. Question words
    3. Object pronouns
    4. Prepositional form (someone doing something for, to, or on behalf of someone else)
    5. Subjunctive form
    6. Conditional tense marker
    7. Passive form
    8. Imperative form
    9. Prepositional “kwa”
    10. Reading skills
    11. STROV formula

  3. Reflexive form
  4. Noun Classes – introduction
